The Dwarven saga begins... Roskin, heir to the throne of a remote, peaceful kingdom of dwarves, craves excitement and adventure. Outside his own kingdom, in search of fortune and glory, he finds a much different world, one divided by racial strife and overrun by war. The orcs to the south want to conquer all dwarves and sell them as slaves. The humans to the east want to control the world's resources. Caught in the middle, Roskin finds himself chased by slave traders and soldiers alike as he discovers that friendship is the best fortune of all. Just when he thinks he has triumphed, an act of betrayal sends him into bondage. His only hope of escape is the faltering courage of a disgraced warrior whose best days are behind him...

My Thoughts:

I went into reading this book without even looking at the description, the amazing marketing professional that sent this to me had hyped it up enough for me to want to devour it. I will say right away that she wasn't wrong. I mean come on who doesn't like Dwarves? I'm pretty sure that's the first thing I even said to her as well when she approached me to read this one.

The Brotherhood of Dwarves is easily one of my favorite books that I've read this year and if you've been following me on my other blog then you know I've read over 100 books this year. Below are a few of the reasons why I love it so much and even a few of the cons.

Pros: The writing style of this book is superb and I really enjoyed how immersive the world is that the author has created. The way he writes has you jumping right into the world with both feet and I loved that about this book.  Also the pacing of the story is perfect for a young adult book. Especially one that is more geared to the guys, though if you're a female and love fantasy this is a great read for you too. With a great book full of action and adventure, this is a perfect read.

Cons:  There is a lot of information thrown at you really fast, though with this type of fantasy read it's normal. It can be an information overload though at times.  This is pretty much my only con when it comes to this book.

I really wish I would have given this book a chance long before now, but you all know how it goes so many books to read, but not nearly enough time. I'm glad I did get the chance to read it now and can't wait to read the others in this series. I want to thank the author and his marketing agent for giving me the chance to read this one and hope to get to read the rest in the future.  This author is one that I will be keeping my eyes on in the future! I can't wait to read more about these characters and this world.

Are you all Ready?

I'm so excited to be back here on this blog! Today is the first day and I can't wait to share some amazing books with you. One of which will be going live today. I'm in the process of moving all the posts from the other blog over to this one, but it's going to take me some time. Hopefully by the beginning of next year I can have it all back to the way I like it. Just please stick with me for a bit while I make this move.

Thanks,
Addy!~

Take Me Home by Inez Kelley

Logging manager Matt Shaw is wary when Kayla Edwards, the owner of Mountain Specialty Spices, hires his firm to harvest timber on her Appalachian property. It’s a place he knows better than the back of his calloused hand—it’s his family’s old homestead, lost years ago in a painful foreclosure. He’s hauled himself up from dirt-floor poor since then, and resolves to stay professional… But Kayla’s vivacious beauty makes it hard to focus on his job.

Home. That’s how army-brat-turned-foodie Kayla feels about her new mountain hideaway. What’s more, the hottest lumberjack ever to swing an axe has agreed to manage her timber crop and get the old maple syrup operations back on tap. Matt’s ruggedly sexy ways and passion for the land have her falling hard.

The heat between them grows wild…until Kayla discovers that Matt hasn’t been upfront with her. She feels devastated, and worst of all, used. How can Matt prove it’s her he wants and not her land?

  • Always having plenty of books to read, yes this can be a pro and a con.
  • I love posting on this blog and this design is to die for.
  • I simply enjoy blogging.
  • I hear about bookish events before the public do.

Con's

  • There is a lot of drama in the blogging community
  • Blogging can be a lot of work
  • Pressure to make sure everything is perfection.
  • So much spent on the computer, making sure it all posts correctly.
